Mayor of Trakia district was very kind to provide us with a place to organize our humanitarian center, free of charge, for which we are grateful.
In our humanitarian center we accept donations such as food, clothing, medicine, which we then sort for ease of distribution to Ukrainians in need, and send parts of those donations to Ukraine.
At the center, volunteers can currently provide the following assistance:
1. Food
2. Personal hygiene products
3. Clothing
4. Everything you need for children
5. Medicine
6. Animal food
7. Utensils
8. Household items

Project of psychological help “From heart to heart”
One of the most important directions which our foundation “Ukraine Support and Renovation” is developing is psychological help to Ukrainians who are fleeing the war. Most often they went through most difficult journey in their life to get to Bulgaria. Some of them lost their close ones, relatives, or their home. Some of the were separated with their close ones and are going through a rough process of adaptation and starting their next chapter in a new country. We want to help strengthen their psychological stance of adults and kids in this difficult time for our nation. We took this idea, and started developing it, we found qualified and experienced psychotherapists, who specialise in trauma and crises. Because many Ukrainians went from being shocked to being in a state of crisis.
With the help of these specialists, main goal was set:
– Finding their own support after the shock,
– Removal of psycho-emotional stress
– Increase the resources of the psyche for better adaptation in another country.
Local authorities of city Plovdiv sincerely provided us with space in our own building. It is small and very suitable for personal consultations.
For several weeks, the groups met outdoors in parks, but these meetings are very weather dependent. Therefore, the city library “Ivan Vazov” kindly opened the doors of a more spacious conference room for group meetings indoors.
Currently, our psychologists work with children’s groups (5-7 and 7-12 years) and hold meetings for our women.
The plan for classes with children looks something like this:
1. Sharing. Greetings, discussion of the state, warm-up and setting up for classes.
2. Tasks for the development of communicative intelligence. Aimed at developing communication between children.
3. Art – practice. By topic and purpose of the lesson.
4. Tasks for the development of emotional intelligence. Understanding one’s feelings and the feelings of others, the ability to deal with them.
5. Art – practice. On the topic of the development of emotional intelligence.
6. Tasks for the prevention of perfectionism, fear of error, uplifting, positive tasks.
7. Completion. Lesson discussion. The result, the acceptance of the value of the past.

Margarita Tytova, Psychologist, Gestalt therapist, has many years of experience working with children, families, and adults. In 2014, she led a project to work with internally displaced persons from the Donetsk region.

Our mission is to help people who are in a difficult situation because of the war in Ukraine. Our assistance includes help with food, medical help, adaptation in a new environment. We also provide psychological and moral support to people who find themselves in a difficult situation.
At the moment we are focusing on the integration of forced migrants in the Plovdiv city of Bulgaria.
To that end, we opened our first Children’s Center, where parents can leave their children in safety and start working at their new place of living.
We plan to open another five such children’s centers.
It is also important for people who are just looking for a job not to be left on the street. To this end, we organized the first hostel for refugees from Ukraine “Second Home” in Plovdiv.
Today our city has received more than 5,000 people and, unfortunately, the size of the hostel cannot accommodate all the refugees who need shelter.
Today we have to rent additional housing for these people. We choose the most affordable housing possible.
The average price of such an apartment is 500 BGN (about 250 EUR) per month.
Today we need to rent 10 apartments for a period of 12 months.
