BUSINESS ACADEMY FOR STARTING ENTREPRENEURS (BASE) WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE "AMERICA FOR BULGARIA"
The BASE program (https://baseprogram.bg/) – “Business Academy for budding entrepreneurs” – aims to foster a favourable environment for long-term economic development in Bulgaria by encouraging residents of various regions to start or expand their own businesses.
that the course is focused on training Ukrainians who have received temporary protection in Bulgaria due to the war and want to start or expand their own business in the country where they reside.
MISSION
– Affirmation of professional values, entrepreneurial spirit and innovative practices in business, civil society, education, science, culture and technology.
– Support for Ukrainian citizens who have found refuge in Bulgaria due to the war in Ukraine and are trying to integrate into Bulgarian society.
Who can take part in the program:
Ukrainian citizens over the age of 18: managers and specialists in small businesses, individual entrepreneurs, citizens who want to start their own business or work for a successful company, students in secondary vocational or higher education institutions, and school graduates.
Form and time required for training
Educational structure – in attendance. Classes are held free of charge.
Curriculum
provides lectures and practical exercises, trainings on the following aspects:
– business modelling and analysis
– marketing
– legal aspects of business
– accounting and taxation (details in the link: CURRICULUM).
The goal of BASE training
preparation and defense of a business plan for their entrepreneurial idea by the Academy’s participants. The business plan must follow a specific format included in the educational materials that each participant will receive.
Business plan protection
The business plans will be evaluated competitively by an independent and competent jury selected by representatives of the America for Bulgaria fund. The final will feature a public presentation and defence of the works by Academy listeners. The best business plans will win financial awards to use for their business growth.
Final document and award
A certificate from the Business Academy for Beginner Entrepreneurs (BASE), a cash prize for the listeners who presented the best business plans.

Oleg Zaim has completed the second session at BASE, achieving the first place with a business plan for a storage-for-rent or personal storage space called “Maza.”
Maria Klimencheko, who graduated from the second cohort of BASE, secured second place with her business project “LakeHome” in the glamping category.
Maria Dermenzhi, a digital marketing specialist, graduated from BASE.
Evgeniy Ponomarov, a financial advisor, completed the first cohort of BASE.
