Our Reading Room

What exactly is our library? That’s over a thousand different book copies on cozy shelves! Our library environment promotes reading, drawing, and the creation of new works of art! Residents and visitors to Plovdiv come here to broaden their knowledge and skills, as well as to learn something new.
It’s fun to fantasize and create imaginary worlds and what better place to do so than at the library? All you need is to curl up on the sofa with a book in your arms. That’s when the magic begins.

You frequently visit the library with authors, publishers, and creatives who, despite living far away, continue this vital profession. They hold meetings and master classes for children and adults and they share their books and feelings. They all became close friends with Ukrainian writers Victoria Filina and Natalia Stoyanova. Sincere gratitude for caring for our children! They are looking forward to future interactions with you! Caring people help to keep the library fund going. These are Ukrainians who send books in various ways, as well as volunteers and friends in Bulgaria. Everyone who appreciates the value of books and culture. Thank you so much to everyone!
Separately, we would like to express our gratitude to the Ukrainian publishing house Ranok which was the first to respond to our request and provided a large number of Ukrainian books to the children of Plovdiv. We would appreciate it if other Ukrainian publishing houses joined the initiative! n these trying times, we realize how critical it is to preserve Ukrainian words and literature.

Our library is open to anyone who enjoys books and reading. We are confident that everyone will be able to find a book that appeals to their personal tastes and interests.

Hours of operation for the reading room:

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 18.00 to 19.00

Centers of Ukrainian Literature

It seems that all Ukrainians in Plovdiv are already familiar with the library in the Second Home Library Plovdiv | Ukraine Support & Renovation. Some read here, some look at pictures, some study. The library is continuously being filled with new books. With confidence and pride, we can say that their number today is approaching 1500 books.
It’s very pleasant that such corners of Ukrainian literature are emerging and exist not only in Plovdiv. We present to you the friends of our library!

1. Regional Library “Peyo K. Yavorov,” Burgas. – Regional Library “Peyo Yavorov” Here, Ukrainian books are placed in a specially designated area in the Children’s Department. They have been donated by the “Burgas Ukraine” Association. Most of them are for children, but there are also copies for adults.

2. Regional Library “Pencho Slaveykov,” Varna. The books for this library were donated by the Ambassador of Ukraine, Olesia Ilashchuk, as part of the “Ukrainian Book Fair” program, which is carried out on a global scale under the patronage of the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska. The program is implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, as well as with the Ukrainian Book Institute. Currently, the Varna library has over a hundred books for both children and adults, including translations into Bulgarian of works by Ukrainian authors.
