Last Saturday, on 11/11/2023, our children encountered a real wolf! No, they weren’t at the theater for the “Little Red Riding Hood” play. The kids visited the zoo in Pazardzhik! They spent the entire week preparing for this event, packing backpacks, and planning an outdoor lunch. Saturday morning turned out to be rainy. Adults didn’t expect sunshine that day, but the children, with their demeanor, showed that nothing would prevent them from enjoying the excursion to the fullest. Perhaps, thanks to this childlike energy, the rain stopped on the way to the zoo! Pazardzhik welcomed us with sunshine. The local zoo residents weren’t very surprised by the new visitors, but still, they peered curiously from their habitats. Common farmyard birds—ducks and geese—greeted our children at the zoo entrance. A bit further, representatives of the feline family lounged—graceful tigers and dignified lions. In the next enclosure, fluffy white chickens and their relatives, peacocks, were bustling. Nearby, deer grazed, monkeys jumped a little further, and there were even goat kids! However, the most enchanting was the wolf. We encountered an unusual individual who happily interacted with the children even through the fence. After an outdoor lunch, the explorers continued to explore “Freedom Island” park and unexpectedly saw dinosaurs!! Of course, not real ones, but no less fascinating! It turned out that dinosaurs could roar! The excursion pleasantly concluded at the children’s playground with sports equipment and interesting swings. Plovdiv welcomed us with sunshine and a rainbow! By the way, do you know when and how a rainbow appears? 🌈 But that’s a story for another time! Today, we thank the World Health Organization https://www.who.int/ for this wonderful opportunity for Ukrainian children to get closer to nature and the animal kingdom.
