Sometimes children say the simplest things — and those are the ones that break your heart.
Last year, when we were giving out New Year’s gifts, a little girl softly whispered:
“Can I have a doll? Not a big one… a small one, so I can hug her when I’m sad?”

And a little boy, about seven years old, holding his mother’s hand, smiled and said:
“I want a car… a tiny one. So I can carry it in my pocket. And… so Dad can know that I’m waiting for him.”

There’s a boy who dreams of a remote-controlled helicopter; a girl who wants a puzzle,
“so I can put the pieces together and dream”;
and a teenager who asked:
“Could I just have warm gloves? I have a little sister — let the beautiful gift go to her.”

And here we are — another difficult year has passed… More families have arrived in Plovdiv, more people… and almost all of them — with children.

Many children — whose lives have been torn apart by war and uncertainty — will welcome the New Year for the fourth time far from home, far from their loved ones, far from the childhood they deserve.

Today, there are around 20,000 underage refugee children from Ukraine living in Bulgaria.
These are thousands of little hearts that still believe in miracles… if we help them feel one.

🌟 Our goal is to collect 300 children’s gifts —
300 little stories into which each of us can bring light.

We are collecting:
🎁 toys — cars, dolls, puzzles, board games;
🎨 arts & crafts sets;
📚 children’s books;
🧣 warm items — socks, scarves, gloves;
📒 school notebooks — because a great number of children already attend Bulgarian schools, and for them new, colorful notebooks are a real joy!

And we also want to give every child a Roshen New Year’s set — a ray of hope from Ukraine, a reminder of a bright childhood, and the taste of those holidays when the whole family gathered around the table. Together…

Every gift is not just an item.

We have currently completed the fundraising for the RedCord system – it has been delivered and is actively used by the doctors.

Tables Bobath have been purchased; we are now awaiting delivery from the manufacturer.

A partnership initiative of the “Ukraine Support & Renovation” with the “Help Ukraine Today Kh” Foundation for the Rehabilitation Department in Kharkiv.

The goal of the initiative is to provide equipment for the rehabilitation department, which offers comprehensive assistance following injuries, limb disabilities, amputations, neurological damage, and preparation for prosthetics for the population of Ukraine affected by military aggression; as well as psychological and social adaptation support.

Currently, the specialists are working with the minimum necessary equipment and with great internal motivation. However, the availability of equipment will significantly enhance the effectiveness of rehabilitation.
Since March 2023, 650 people have undergone rehabilitation in the department (for example, 32 people in September and 29 in October 2024).

The estimated cost for re-equipping is approximately €120,000.

In Bulgaria, we plan to purchase two electric chairs for rehabilitation exercises.

The price is 2630 euros with delivery.

💙 Dear friends, the time has come to help those who have been helping others for three and a half years.
I met Ihor when we were collecting humanitarian aid for people and animals.
Back then, he simply asked: “Can you find a truck and cover the costs?”
That’s how our cooperation began — with Ihor, with Ernest, with the people who, from the very first day of the war, have held the volunteer front.
The first trucks with humanitarian aid, the first tons of food, medicine, and clothing — all of it passed through their hands.
They found warehouses, prepared documents, identified those most in need of help.
They did what the state should have done.
When everyone else was in shock and despair, these people were already acting.
Today, they themselves need our support.
Winter is coming — cold and blackouts are ahead: days and nights without electricity.
For the guys on the front line and our volunteers in Odesa and the region, generators, nets, and tape are essential — everything that helps them survive and continue their mission.
Ihor is now at the front himself.
When he received his draft notice, I asked him: “What will you do?”
He simply replied: “I’m going. It’s my duty.”
And even from there, from the front, he continues to coordinate aid.
When he wrote to me that they needed generators, I asked just one question:
“Can you make an official request?”
He answered: “Yes, of course.”
💡 We cannot stand by and do nothing.

One generator costs about €400–500.
We need five generators, as well as materials to fortify their positions.
The total goal of the campaign is €3,000 (around 6,000 BGN).
Our family will donate €200.

Every month our volunteers travel to the front — everything is delivered with the required documents, transparently and legally, with customs declarations and photos.

Summer is in full swing, but we’re already thinking about September 15 — the day when hundreds of Ukrainian children will cross the threshold of schools in Plovdiv. For many of them, it won’t just be a new school year. It will be a new challenge.

🎒 An ordinary school backpack with supplies becomes more than just a backpack. It is a gesture of support. Of care. Of hope. Of education.

📚 Our goal – 300 backpacks with everything needed for school.

We invite you to be part of an important and inspiring project! We are raising funds to cover the trip for 20 Ukrainian children and two caregivers to a summer children’s camp by the sea in June for one week.

These children are top students, winners of school competitions, and outstanding athletes. At the same time, they have lost their past and do not know what the future holds for them. They deserve this vacation as a reward for their hard work and achievements, for their resilience and ability to smile even when they feel like crying. For their indomitable spirit and strength to never give up!

Foundation “Ukraine Support and Renovation”
The project is organized with the support of Plovdiv University, whose lecturers conduct the training based on a signed agreement.

Target group

25 participants – Ukrainian refugees living in the city of Plovdiv.

Before the start of the course, each participant undergoes a preliminary interview to assess their motivation and initial level of preparation.

All participants plan to stay long-term in Plovdiv. Many of them already have jobs but aim to find positions that better match their professional qualifications. To achieve this, they need to learn Bulgarian at least at a basic level for daily communication.

The project’s goal is to…

To provide Ukrainian refugees with A2-level language skills that will enable them to successfully integrate into Bulgarian society, facilitate finding suitable employment, improve daily communication, and boost their confidence.

Project tasks

To organize a Bulgarian language course with professional instructors.
To provide comfortable and accessible learning conditions.
To develop a curriculum that will enable participants to reach A2 level.
To issue certificates of completion verifying the level of Bulgarian language proficiency.

Implementation period

2 months, course start date – [start date].

Class schedule

Frequency: 3 times a week.
From 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM (2 academic hours).
Location: Community Center “Kompas,” Maria Luiza Blvd. 47.

Course characteristics

The classes are conducted by lecturers from Plovdiv University.
Upon completing the course, participants will undergo final testing and receive an A2 level certificate issued by the university.
The curriculum is designed in accordance with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) requirements.
Participants are highly motivated: the average course completion rate over the past year exceeds 85%, demonstrating a serious commitment to learning.

Expected results

Participants will acquire A2 level skills, including:
- Basic communication on everyday topics.
- Basics of writing, reading, and understanding speech.
Obtaining the certificate will be an important step in the professional integration of participants (job applications, skill development).
Increased confidence in daily communication and improved social adaptation.

Required funding

Total cost of the course for 2 months: 4,000 BGN.

This amount covers:

Instructor services.
Preparation and provision of educational materials.
Certification of participants.

Entry test to determine the participants’ initial level.
Final test conducted by Plovdiv University.

Food for large families

“Today, I accidentally met another large family living in Harmanli. Olga, a mother of three, recently completed a manicure course, is looking for a job, and is trying to get back on her feet. Her eldest daughter is 18, and her twin daughters are 9. When I offered to send her gifts for the children—including vitamins, books, and toys—her reaction brought tears to my eyes. She was so overjoyed, as if I had offered her a chest of treasures. The package will be on its way to them tomorrow.”

After this meeting, I went into a Metro store to shop, and suddenly I started thinking. All of us are currently preparing for the holidays—buying something tasty, searching for special gifts. But large families like Olga’s are counting every penny and are grateful for any help, even the smallest.

That’s why I decided to buy the essentials for this family for the holiday week. When I paid for the groceries, I realized that while I can personally help one or two families, with the funds we’ve managed to collect over these past days, we can support at least 20-25 families.

But there are many more such families. We want to try to raise funds not only for large families in Plovdiv but also for those living outside the city. On average, one food package costs between 120 and 150 BGN, but it can bring joy to many families with 3, 5, or even more children.
These families will feel that the holiday has arrived. It smells of mandarins, apples, and chocolate candies. And this, perhaps, is the most important gift we can give them—the feeling of celebration, warmth, and hope.

We have already raised 2,000 BGN and aim to collect an additional 2,000 BGN to purchase the necessary products and send them to large Ukrainian families who have found refuge in peaceful Bulgaria!

On the threshold of the New Year, each of us can offer a bit of warmth and kindness to those who need it most. Imagine refugee children who, like all little ones, dream of miracles but are far from home. These children go to school or kindergarten in a foreign city, where everything is new and unfamiliar to them. Their hearts are filled with hope of returning home, but sometimes this feeling fades without support and the little miracles that are so necessary, especially at Christmas.

We can gather New Year’s gifts for these children—simple yet very meaningful. Warm gloves, coloring books, storybooks, toys, or treats. All of these can bring them joy, reminding them that they are not alone, that there are people who care about them.

Support for the Second House

Yesterday, 12 people from Elhovo arrived at the Second House. They were strangers to each other, of different ages and professions, with both children and elderly among them. However, they all shared one common desire—to find stability, work, housing, and peace.

Every month, we welcome between 30 to 45 new people, and every month, 20-40 of them begin a new life by finding work and shelter. Your support is an invaluable resource that gives them strength, faith, and hope! It was particularly heartening to see how the men immediately set about repairing the washing machines and microwaves, which had been out of service for several weeks—there simply were no technicians among the residents who understood how to fix them. But in the homely atmosphere of the Second House, people begin to relax and help each other. Everyone is especially caring for our Lyuda, who has not yet fully recovered from her stroke. She now cleans her room and does her laundry by herself, though she still cannot cook. But Lyuda does not give up; she holds on and tries to be an example for others!

In the evenings, the children distribute kittens among the rooms, play with them, and learn to care for those who are weaker and defenseless. Sometimes, one of the women makes a simple dessert and treats all the nearby children. And in this homey, warm atmosphere, there arises a feeling that everything is alright and everything will be okay.
